Shortening clutch pushrod when doing GT2 mod ?
Shortening clutch pushrod when doing GT2 mod ?
(Probably should have said lengthening...)
Finally going to install my kit I've had sitting around.
I notice that many have a near the floor engagement point, and have read somewhere here that some have shortened the pushrod to bring the engagement point up a bit.
Anyone care to chime in about how much they removed?

Hi there...Just got my car back from evo after getting their stage 3 clutch and gt2 convesion done. The car feels awesome, but the engagement is lower than stock. It doesn't really bother me, but their new head tech thinks it is too low so they are fabbing a longer pin and will install it while I wait when I bring the car back. Every car/clutch combo is different apparently. You can also shim something to bring it closer to the clutch, which has the effect of raising the engagement point, but I'm not positive on the details (they did this to my car as well). Good luck...very nice mod, although there is more pedal effort (but it doesn't bother me in the least). I've only driven the car 20 minutes but I"m already used to the new feel!
I had forgotten I posted this the other day. Later I thought about it, and quickly realized the longer pin was needed, or machine a bit off the front edge of the EVOMS slave bracket so the slave sits a bit more rearward.
If you could, please mic your old and new pins...
Inquiring minds would like to know.

I got a box with a bunch of my old parts, I'll see what I have in there. Also, what do you mean by "mic"? If you are asking me to measure something on the car, I'd be happy to do so, just tell me where to look.
I have the opposite problem with my GT2 slave, CM stg 3, Aasco LWFW. The engagement point it too high! I think an adjustable rod would be a great idea:

Best to try the new engagement point for a month before paying for the modification. I just had my GT2 conversion done and was in the same boat as you. Since I am still breaking in my clutch I haven't taken it to the track, but I am pretty much used to it now.
Houston Motorwerks (Akram) has done the engagement point adjustment if you need details.

All,
How difficult is it to change the pin/rod after install? Based on what I know of the setup, I figured you would have to do the whole process over, but if Scott thinks EVOMS can redo it while he waits then maybe it's faster than I think ...

I have a spare GT2 slave rod if anyone wants it, dunno if it is shorter or longer though.
dgreen78 - I have the same "problem" as you do, I am using a RSS clutch stop, and it is perfect!
