I am trying to a good write-up that I can link on the Knowledge sub-forum. It is not particularly hard from I have seen, but a procedure would be of a great help for others. I did search BTW.

you know, when I searched this I was not particularly happy with the results either. I am in the middle of a swap on my buddy's car, and I am documenting it. Once we get everything buttoned up I'll post a diy with pics.

Reviving an old thread. I searched and found the results wanting. There are a couple of DIY threads but not the detailed idiot proof kind with pictures that this idiot likes to rely upon. Does anyone know of a turbo swap DIY here or on another forum? Thanks.

Hose down all the nuts.... With PB or WD40. also hose down the flare nuts that go to the oil tanks, tubing to fitting. It gets corroded in there and locks the tubing to the flare nut. Same with turbo oil feed line. Use flare nut wrenches too.

Tim I read about everything being seized or close to it. I'll get a set of flare wrenches before I start the job.

Any estimate of job time for a first timer? Not installing Alphas with water lines, just a swap to something like 24/18g or Billet K16s?

I've read people saying it took them anywhere from 4 to 8+ hours depending on what difficulties they run into. it will take me longer than most because it always does. Porsche book time I think is 5.5 hours for stock turbos.

I plan to do plugs and packs while the turbos are off.
