Come on, this car has 8,000 miles on it and has never been parked in the sun. Is there somewhere to source these for a decent price? dealer wants a pretty unreasonable amount... It's the dark wood too, unfortunately there is a member on here that is willing to sell his but he has lighter wood

If you want replacement wood it may be dealer only. CF or plastic can be sourced in other areas. CF: DB carbon. Plastic: Suncoast.

My 2001 966TT had its carbon wheel replaced under warranty, I think in 2005, due to slight fissures. Now just a few years later, it is back.

My gut feeling is that the wood will do the same, especially since your car is in a sunny and hot area like my car was in Las Vegas.

If plastic works there aesthetically, that may be something to consider.

unfortunately those strips feed into the A/C vents so I'd have to replace the whole dash trim, along with the door trim and everything else (sigh)

Get ready for more....
I have had non-stop problems with the wood trim since I got the car. I rarely park in the sun, uswe the shield for the window and have tints as well and still the wood de-laminates and some have cracked. I replaced a few parts I bought from someone else here on 6speed and bought 2 more from the dealer dirt cheap on clearance. I had the dealer epoxy the other parts that de-laminated.
I realize this is all a short-term fix and I will be headed to different trim in the future.
Honestly the Porshce wood and the technique for placing it utterly suck. I wish they would take some ownership on it as it seems to be a common problem.
Good luck and I share your frustration thoroughly.

Best to start replacing it with plastic, painted or high quality CF products. Otherwise, will be in the same boat in a few years...

Porsche should def step up on this issue. I had just basic wood and it was over a $2k option. The OP's wood was probably a $6k option - they should fix it cause it is junk.

I am just getting rid of my wood with painted pieces. I only have the thin strips in the dash to go! Will probably just wrap them in vinyl since they are sticking thus far.

They told me it is not covered under warranty since it is "normal wear and tear" but honestly how can it be so ubiquitously present and prevalent with all these cars across all different parts of the country?
I'm curious if we file a joint complaint if they'll listen
This is an issue that's been ticking me off since I got the car.

Does anyone have PCNA's number off hand? I'll call if anyone else will to see if we can get something going. I have already replaced mine, but I will call if it will help others get theirs fixed!

They should at least offer replacement at cost and a break on labor or something. I know they are out of warranty, but it is def a defect IMO...

What about sending a long list to VP of North American Operations with the complaint?
Any 6speed memeber attorneys and have failing wood trim?

I will back you up and call 100%. I will look around to see if I can get a number as well. I think we will be better received with multiple complaints or a joint complaint with everyone.

So I called the PNA Customer service people and asked to speak to someone regarding a complaint. Their response was to email in writing the problem so they can begin an inquiry regarding the problem.
The email address is info@porschecars.com
Along with the cmplaint they need proof of ownership (Registration), The vehicle VIN number and the mileage and year of the vehicle.
I will do this today when I get home.
I'm not sure if it will amount to anything but if everyone chimes in who knows, maybe they will help out.
