Thumbs up Atiwe Daytona Aftermarket Steering Wheel Review

All I can say is that I wish I would have bought this item earlier.
For years now I've been struggling with the feel of my skinny 'trucker' steering wheel. Even OEM upgrades did not seem that attractive to me : kind of pricey and still not what I was looking for.

I ended up biting the bullet and bought the Daytona 340mm steering wheel from Carnewal (being Belgian, I have to support my compatriotes). Anyway, very good price and quick delivery to the US.
Gert sells it under the "Raid" brand, but here in the US it can also be bought under other brand names (FVD, Vivid,..)
Installation was not that tough, took me about 1.5 hours.

Attached some pics of the final result. Feels as good as it looks, it's a totally different driving experience !

Guys, don't forget that Dallas Steering Wheel can fatten and re-wrap your stock wheel for 1/2 the price of this wheel. First class workmanship and customer service too. No affiliation, just a very satisfied customer.

Don't get me wrong, the Atiwe wheel is a nice product. Congrats to the OP.

I have seen the Atiwe and they are awesome, but I wanted to spend less and went Dallas. Nice post....definitely the next one to get for me.

MA carbon does some very nice stuff too.

Can any of the above mentioned wheels be found with a silver crest and not the gold one? I don't feel like paying $500+ for a whole new OEM airbag from Porsche that has it. (I just want the badge)

Do you find that the steering wheel blocks you from seeing the top of the tach? That was my experience with the thick 340mm FVD Daytona wheel. It really bothered me.

Nope, I can see the top of my tach....
Since I'm 6 feet tall, I put my seat rather low.

Regarding the cost : for me it is cheaper to buy with my European earned Euros. Cost me like 600 Euro to buy the entire set (steering wheel + adaptor).
Price for a re-warp runs quickly close to 400$. Not worth it in my book, since you alter an OEM piece of equipment.
Cost for these steering wheels in the US is higher from what I recall (over 1,000$ including adaptor). But even that would be worth it to me...

That looks awesome with the silver bottom. I think its worth the price as well, certain parts on a car you just gotta spend the money and do it right.

rgwirtz is infamous around these parts
Dsw is really good

No affiliation from me either. I got a black alcantara wheel that they made thicker than the original. Looks and feels great. So much better than the cracked cf wheel that came with my 02 turbo. Black on black. I also got a gt3 shift **** in black alcantara with red stitching. I was thinking of doing a colored rear center console. Would red be silly? I think arctic silver is the most conservative choice.
