Why loosen the exhaust straps,i thought the exhaust would just come down with the engine?

The straps secure it to the chassis...if it wasn't for the straps, the exhaust would just hang off the turbos...

the exhaust is mounted to the engine plate and does not need to be touch. Yes there is about a inch of thread that you can back the motor down on and still have full thread contact on the nut/stud. but its not needed the change the DV's. What is is a cable flex hose clamp tool for the squeeze type clamps.
