painting the abs plastic
painting the abs plastic
I was planning on painting the black pieces to match the car. Any input on this would be great. I am sure the front spoiler would chip easily!! what about the sides and the rear???
Thanks,
Thanks,
SIdes should be no problem...They actually come painted with the aerokit option from factory...
I would not advise painting the lip as it will chip. If you check my sig I painted the lower rear bumper section and the bumperettes...

Be careful....very careful. Layering the proper sealants and primer with flex is critical. We paint plastic and rubber all day long. It can be done right, and it can often be done wrong. Know what you are doing, experiment if you can, or hire the right shop.
Happy to advise whenever you need it.

Painting the front lip is essential to the proper look, IMO. It greatly helps if you have something like Armourfend applied after it's painted. And oh yeah, don't rub it all the time.
Id get the Aero lip if you dont mind shelling out the extra dough and painting that...It is made of a stronger material and looks ten times better IMO...It also comes primed ready to paint...
Not too crazy about the aero kit chin spoiler. I kinda liked the Gemballa chin spoiler but not sure how it would look on a stock tt

My paint shop sais it's extremely difficutl to paint the factory black pieces after they've already had miles racke up on them, all the armor-all from the carwashes or debris, oil, and crud from the street make it difficult to do ... he suggested buying new plastic ... then again he might be full of sh*t!?
