Question on this ebay 996 Turbo

I've been looking for a 996 Turbo for a few months now and I ran across this one on ebay that has some type of water injection to apparently cool the intake air temperature. I've never heard of that before on an otherwise stock car... Do you guys think this car was heavily modified and then most of the mods were taken off to sell it as stock? I'm somewhat interested because it's located relatively close to me. TIA!

Yes. meth/water injection is not a beginner mod, it is nice if setup properly and tuned for, but most people add it when going to big turbos so they can run the car at 10/10ths. It says a cali car so perhaps this was added to get around the 91 gas but. . I doubt it.

I would rather see the meth ports much closer to the IC's as well, to ensure good mix / atomization.

Just buy a car from a 6speed member . . . .. there are plenty for sale.

Maybe its just me, and yes I know all dealerships have disclosures, but anytime I see the dont waste our time with questions, our cars are old, blah blah blah, I get the feeling of skydiving without a parachute.

OK, I feel better now

those are not the original seats. the rear seats use supple leather and the fronts are sport.

My guess is she had more mods if they are not on there. The air filter box has been modified for more air! Someone was running some big turbos I bet!

I would proceed with caution. My interactions with this dealer were less than stellar to say the least. They had my deposit on a car that had passed a PPI a few days after my deposit was made and I had validated the service records with a local dealer; problem came in when I was calling them asking about where the paperwork was to complete the deal we had agree upon and I kept getting the run around. Turn out they were working a deal with a "local" buyer. I did get my deposit back on the car but they left a really bad taste in my mouth not return calls etc when I was trying to close the deal we had agreed upon and the deposit I had applied (pending PPI). That being said I did end up with a better car that was local in the end but this dealer was not on the up and up with me. I won't say my experience is completely representative of the dealer but I do want to share my experience.

Two times to auction? Meth injection and virtually nothing else known?

And that attitude?

I wouldn't waste a second given ezeks experience.

I didn't now you could register a car in a state outside of California, and still call it a California car. PASS on this one given all the info from the members above!
