I recently purchased an 04 996tt with GHL exhaust. I had it flashed with FVD. I am not a fan of this exhaust. I am getting tired of the droning inside the cabin with the top. So after reading many threads on what is the best exhaust I have not seen one that will let me know of opinions on the best sound without the drone. Extra HP would be great but I'm looking for a good sound without the drone. Any suggestions would be appreciated

 

I went from a FabTech Gen1 (horrible drone) to a Evoms GT2 style (less drone) and now have Markski's 3" crossover with 4 mufflers and no cats which has the least drone of them all. I'd look into a crossover design for sure and in the meantime just drive 500rpm faster and it'll go away!!

 

Cargraphic and Techart exhausts both produce great sound with no drone.

 

Change the exhaust, Markski is a great 1! Also add sound proofing under the sub woofer deck.

also putting some dynamat on the metal under rear seats may help alot and be alot cheaper solution.

 

Consider Europipe. The sound is intoxicating and the support was top-
rate. I also have an '04 TT.

 

+1 for Markski - his crossover design seems to raise the frequency of the exhaust note and removes the drone and makes it sound like a GT3RS!

 

Put me down for Markski as well. Serious power gain, great sound and waaaay less drone.

i have a cargraphic exhaust for sale..... cheap 1,500

 

i have a cargraphics and there is hardly any drone. the exhaust note on the cg is pretty good. i also had a tubi on a previous 996 again with little drone, but the exhaust note improvement was minimal.
