Lowering a 2001

Hi, I need to lower the car, but don't want to lower it more than .5 inches.
1. How much do the Euro-spec springs lower the car ?
2. Does the ride feel, changes much with this set up ?
3. Can I lower the car .5 inches with the H&R or any other ?
Thanks in advance for your input...

Have you looked at the X73 package offered by Porsche? It lowers the car by 20mm which is more than .5" but not by much. It will ride firmer and handle better

Lowering springs on stock shocks will work at giving you 1/2" to 3/4" lower stance. So it will look better and handle better w/ a lower center of gravity.
But you will cause the stock shocks to wear out faster and the ride will be stiffer.
Also by lowering the car you change the geometry of the suspension. So unless you add adj toe steer & adj dog bones to correct the negative camber and toe you will wear out the tires much faster then normal.
But it does look and handle better. Good luck and shop around. You'll find what you need.

That is incorrect. The X73 suspension lowers the US 996tt by 40mm (1.6") front and 30mm (1.2") rear.

Good catch. Thanks. Just looked it up again and found this

"The factory X73 retrofit kits lowers the RoW cars 20mm all around and the US cars 40mm (1.6") in the front and 30mm (1.2") in the rear. It gives the car a sportier ride without becoming too harsh and an attractive look."
