Techart Type I Wing Pictures

I recently purchased an authentic Techart Type I wing from a member here, and got it installed a few weeks ago. I'm really happy with the look, so I thought I would share some pics. If you are looking for a slightly more aggressive look, but not quite as aggressive as the gt2 or similar style wings, I highly recommend this approach. Also, for the record, the wing does not contact the decklid when it is in the "down" position (I think some of the replica versions do make contact, which would bug me and probably not bode well for the longevity of the hydraulic rams). Here are some pics! (also, check out the speedtech exhaust tips...I love them!)

For those who may be curious, and because I'm bored at the moment watching sick kids, here is a run-down of my mods to date:

1. Performance: Speedtech 2.5" x-celerator exhaust, ported stock headers, epl flash k16 flash, evoms gt2 slave conversion, evoms diverter valves, gt2 intercoolers, g-box detent, Evoms stage 3 clutch, 7mm front/14mm rear H&R wheel spacers

2. Cosmetic (exterior) Techart wing, diy blacked-out turbo emblem, clear side markers, craigslist find stock 18-inch hollows + rattle can autozone backyard ghetto paint job! (actually turned out pretty awesome), painted center caps and wheel bolts (diy)

3. Cosmetic (interior): silver center console, silver, "turbo script" shift **** and boot, silver ac surround, silver dash strips, silver guage surround, "turbo" script aluminum pedals, sunset imports cupholder retrofit

4. Audio (all by prior owner): custom sub box on rear shelf, full, full memphis audio systme with amps, cross-overs, head unit, etc..., etc... (I'm not an audiofile and would have never added this stuff myself, but I'll take it, even if it does probably add 80lbs to the car!)

Likely next mods: fvd pss9's (sitting in the garage for now), paint sport seats in arctic silver, blacked out front porsche emblem....hybrid turbo upgrade??????? My plan is to keep this car for a loooonngggg time. In my opinion, you simply can't beat the bang for the buck you get with a used 996tt, and they are just too fun (which can be characterized as a major disadvantage though, if you ask my better half!).

few more shots

A few more angles (and some interior shots). Not bad for 82k on the clock!

I like the wing! Can these still be ordered, or do you have to get them used. Also, how was the install?

Gentlemen, just a reminder, a post was just removed because it solicited a sale in the general forum. Please post items for sale in the marketplace.

Thank you.

yes, I believe they are still available (but crazy pricey from techart directly). The install is very easy...5 minute job with this 15.00 tool (which I bought)

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Thanks...I really like the look, so much so that I sold my 3-piece 19's after experimenting with this set, which I found for cheap on craigslist. The epl flash was a noticeable improvement, drivability-wise, over my prior flash...very smooth in delivery.

Any thought on how the carbon fiber wing would look on my red car? Or should I get one that matches the same color.

Frissen, your car makes me want to strip out my tinted windows! As for carbon on red, I think it would look good. I'm thinking about wrapping my wing and mirrors in black just to see how it would look (and if it looks crappy it would be easy to remove).
