997 GT2 RS spark plugs ... anybody tried it?
My consideration rises from what follows:
1) Application above 600 HP with 1.3 bar boost
2) Too many opinions about the right plugs ... some say Denso, other Bosch or Beru, etc...
My car is a K24/18g with 72 lbs injectors and EPL tune at 1.3 bar with DENSO double platinum PK20PR-P8 ... in the last 3 months i broke 1 plug and after some weeks i had another 1 fouled !
WTF ... i have used Bosch and Beru for 100000 km without any issues and now, with the DENSO ... too many problems !
I want to swap again to Bosch FR6 but ... the new GT2RS is a 620 crank HP engine (i assume it's very similar to our engine) ... who, better than Porsche, knows which is the better plug for this kind of application ?
So the question is ... does anybody know what plug is running in the GT2 RS engine ?
And, just for my information, does anybody know which is the cylinder number 4 (i mean left or right bank and 1st, 2nd or 3rd cylinder) ?
This request is due to the fact that i'm having misfires in the 4th cylinder and i would like to know where i have to put my hands !!!
Thank you guys for your support !

Sorry to hear... I'm running the Denso PK20PR-P8 and they have been very good to me without any issues. I dropped one during a sparkplug change one time and now I always have a spare just in case. Plan on continuing with them.

Wow.....You are the first one I heard of with the Denso plug problem...I just put them in and I have the similar set-up as you...The only thing I have noticed,is that my idle stayed at the same RPM speed as before the swap But it fluctuates a very little bit up and down at the same RPM increments. Before with the Bosch plugs,it was rock steady......

Guys, my opinion is that Densos are good for drag races or short/medium pull on highways but if you are planninng to use them for very hard track sessions (i used to track the car in circuit very fast as Monza, Mugello, Imola here in Italy where the throttle pedal stays full open for very long period) they show all their limits !
Defintely, ihmo, Densos are not the way to go if you track hard your car !!!

I would not be surprised if these spark plugs were Bosch FR6LDC's. They will work well at the hp and pressure levels of the gt2rs

are you saying that we have the same tuner ?
Really ?
I don't know how many customers EPL has in Italy (i think 2 ... how many crazy Italians do you think would choose an overseas tuner? ) but the most funny thing is that they know each other !!!
Tony, this is a compliment for you ... in Italy if i go to a local tuner asking for a K24/18g tune he looks at me in this way !!!
So, you have just bought the Bosch ones, but correct me if i'm wrong ... are the FR6LDC the double electrod type but they are not platinum, right ?

Yes we are mad maybe...but I know some people is running gt30's here WITHOUT injectors and A TUNE (they say that the ECU "cannot be cracked LOL LOL LOL)!!!
Maybe we're just smart enough to admit someone else can do it better than us..
BTW, the FR6LDC have copper (double) electrodes. Should be good for durability.

why would they make the 997 GT2 RS (the king of all 997's) revert back to our engines? makes me feel good about our engines but kinda puzzled at the same time
As for the plugs if it's the same engine than whatever is in there should work on our engines if the car is set up with the same power specificaitons I would think

really?? wow why would that be the case...I thought the 997 turbo cars were powered differenent and not the same engines as the 996TT/GT2, with VGT turbos and 3.8 L displacement in the 997.2 versions...
