I'm about to complete my "safety" setup (GT3 seats/TQ Rollbar/HANS/6-pt Harness), and am looking to pick up some Schroth Clubman 6-pt harnesses. The best price I found has them for $199/piece.

Does anyone know of a place selling these cheaper?

PM OK if not a board sponsor!

Thanks, TK

199$ anything similar to a proper GT3 belt setup is an EXTRAORDINARY deal.
If it doesn't pan out for you at that price, email Gert at Carnewal for the real deal.

What doesn't it include? Looks like it is a HANS compatible FIA certified 6pt harness, just has more basic accessories vs. top of the line stuff I don't need.

I was patient and got a great deal on a new set for dirt cheap. PMClarke of Apex performance and he can give you the exact info on the club belts.

Be sure to check out Brey Krause for the appropriate hardware to mount the harness properly. I have a few of their parts and can say that they are top notch and make mounting 6-pts easy.

Are you installing these harnesses yourself or do you know folks who have done so successfully?
Those club harnesses do not appear to be a promising/comfortable match to the Hans and will all but certainly be more difficult and time consuming than the purposeful GT-3 specific version.
The standard seat belt hardware is 7/16. On the GT-3 anchors, it is a bolt sleeved into another retainer. The purposeful GT-3 belts have an eyelet purposefully machined to fit over that hardware without jury rigging ancillary BK hardware, which is difficult to fit against the tunnel on the GT-3 seats.
If you are doing the install yourself, you will welcome the ease of the purposeful design. If you are not, you will likely end up paying additional time to outfit a bastardized solution to suit.
HMS can afford you the specific details and are a principle retailer.

Guys,

Great thoughts and I certainly appreciate the comments/feedback - I plan on installing the harnesses myself, following the DIY on Schroth website to properly wrap to the roll bar. The plan is to bolt the lap belts directly to the rear bracket attachment points for the seats (not seats, but chassis) via snap-in brackets, and using either wrap or snap-in hardware for the anti-sub belts.

I am a little sceptical about HANS fit on 3" belts, but for the 3-4 track days a year, I'm willing to try it.

Who is HMS?
