It has taken a lot of time and effort to arrive at this point.

1) The event will consist of six super street legal 996tt and/or GT2's.
2) The fee for the event will be $500. per car which will cover dyno, Thunder Hill and Sacramento Drag Strip costs. There should be time for the owners to run their cars themselves at Thunder Hill after the testing as we will have the track to ourselves.
3) Dave Colman will be writing the article.
4) There will be two drivers testing each car. Dave Colman and a yet be be announced professional driver. We believe the professional at this time will be someone who placed within the top three at the latest Le Mans.
5) We are attempting to have all participants on Michelin Tires. We should be hearing from Michelin soon.
6) The dates will be:
November 13, RPM Dyno
November 14, Thunder Hill
November 15, Sacramento Drag Strip

I need to have a confirmation from Buddy, Hamann and Duane by the end of this week if you still are interested in participating.

I'm in... the fee is no big deal, but I find it a little amusing that WE are paying to give Dave Colman a VERY exciting story.

So if they break our cars, are the drivers insured or do they buy it?

Looking forward to this event, even with my boost turned down. I will try to bring my entourage with me too.

Watt? Dean? Roland? Anyone interested in rolling up with me?

If it were up to me, I believe there should be a third driver named Ruf-Racer aka CFR aka Roland who should test these cars for top speed over 90 miles!!!

Couple things, I agree with Hammann are these drivers insured if they total one of our cars?? Second I would like to have a letter of invitation from Excellence magazine so I am certain that this is going to take place. Not that I don't trust you Chad I just want to know that Excellence is for sure making this happen for an article.

Under those 2 conditions I am in!

In reply to the two questions. If you want insurance, you must provide your own. You are responsible for your car. These cars will not be pushed at 10/10's. I will provide the Excellence article month and year where something similar was done and you can get an idea as to how it was conducted. The cars I believe were agreed to be tested at 7/10's. Dave Colman, Kevin Buckler and one other Pro were the testers.

As for guarantee this article will be in Excellence or other magazines. No guarantee. Let me tell you how this works. Dave is a senior editor or writer for Excellence along with other magazines. He writes the story and presents it. The magazines never guarantee in advance the story will be printed. I believe most of Dave's articles are published. I am expecting a story on my car to be printed in a December issue.

Duane, Hamann and Buddy. There is no pressure to participate. I want everyone to realize some of these terms/questions did not have answers prior to this time. Questions like costs, insurance etc are very personal concerns. If you chose to pass at this time it is understandable and respected. I do need to know in the next two days if you want to be included.

Chad, would I be able to submit my car. By this time I might have the EVO Stg IV completed. Let me know if those drivers want another test car.

Thanks,
Fred

Chad -

I was thinking more about variables to equalize. It occurred to me that some of the cars are still apples to oranges. For example, Buddy has not yet done anything with brakes. Additionally, I don't recall him saying anything about suspension upgrades. So, as for the on track performance part of the test, I'd be concerned that you're going to be testing Tuner A's apples with Tuner B's oranges, so to speak.

Also, not to yank your chain.... but... What's up with testing at 7/10s... how's that going to tell you anything about on track performance?

Admittedly, I haven't seen the article you're talking about. But, it sure strikes me as strange... Will it just be a subjective evaluation, from each driver, of each car's on-track potential? As a racer myself, I wouldn't want to base any decision on a subjective opinion formed at 7/10.

Chad,

Thanks for clearing some items up for me. I am in!

Racer,

As far as brakes go I have stainless steel lines and pagid pads with brembo fluid. Before this event I may have additional work done. The suspension is a KW V3 coilover system, so no worries there. I will probably add the swaybars prior to this event.

Thanks
