996tt Top Gun Shootout
Basically everything but the stereo was done by PES. I also installed the EVO short shifter and EVO DV's myself. The stereo was done locally and really adds nothing to the acceleration other than hearing Sammy Hagar screaming "I can't drive 55" in my ear at full blast!!
I really don't expect or care if my car is the fastest, best handling or puts out the most horsepower. The modifications I have done are for myself and no one else. I don't believe I really stand a chance if Chad has 805 hp. Plus Chad you have about 30,000.00 in brakes I think?? Anyway, I guess I am doing this for the fun of it and to showcase what PES and EVO can do.

FedEx I am sure will be sick of me before this is done.

I think it'll be neat to see what a tip can/will do. It should be a lot of fun.
PS Today was exciting to say the least- I've been on the phone all day bouncing ideas and talking cars. I feel like a kid....

Ghetto is old-school. We are going to be smartening up to make sure the ladies like us.
Buddy,
I wouldn't sell your beast short. Without nitrous and CO2 I would bet our cars are within 20 hp of each other. Hardly enough to make a difference in acceleration. I do not believe either one of us could tell the difference. Don't believe for a second my car can't be beat. It has already been beat.
Besides at Thunder Hill my guess is 600 hp will be the cat's meow.
This event is going to be alot of fun. All the tuners are going to be able to showcase their products. People are going to be looking at different things. What is important to some will not be important to others. The styling of the cars are all different. For myself I really want to see how torque varies in the lower and mid rpm ranges. I know I am going to come back from the event with new ideas that I will want to incorporate in my car.

Alex, that is what I'm afraid of.
Hey, by the way, who says your car won't dyno? As for getting beat, I have everything to lose and nothing to gain.
I have seen stranger things happen. Nothing would surprise me. Like Buddy said, let's just have some fun.

Chad,
Someone already mentioned this, but why not try and get other mags involved as well. They could provide you with all the equipment you need. Also, we will then have different perspectives. I guarantee that the other mags would be happy to be there. I for one would love to see "Evo Magazine" from England at this event. If there ever was a magazine that embodied this event it is Evo Mag. I think that would be best in light of the exclusivity of the article. That way you would have one US mag and one from europe. I would be really interested to here there take on this event. Just my thoughts, not tryiing to rain on your parade or anything. I think what you organized is truly amazing.

LSM,
I have a certain loyality to Excellence, Pete Stout and Dave Colman. They were willing to consider this when others were not. It did take a long time to get off dead center but now it is looking pretty exiting. Some time ago I did try to interest others to no avail. No matter what happens, it will turn out better than I first expected. Better yet, I am about to meet some really great people and have some fun to boot.

Regarding my car's entry I do think that my car will have the least HP out of everyone and it will be interesting to find out how it compares to all the other HIGHER OUTPUT turbos. What I am shooting for is for Excellence to categorize my ride as a Street Car with power, handling, and comfort for daily use.
I can't wait for this shoot out. It will be a thrill to see such beautiful turbo's and meet each owner.
