Get this one done first.. get the ball rolling. I figure after this article is done, we may get a few knocks on the door...

PS Just about everyone turns the tip away saying, "Hmm we've dropped the front drive shaft on 6 speeds, but damn yours is different, there's not enough play etc.." And don't get my started on the AWD ones.. I have three and a half teeth from my old diff that got spat out. At worst we could G-Tech the car and use our own correction

What I am shooting for is for Excellence to categorize my ride as a Street Car with power, handling, and comfort for daily use.

I can't wait for this shoot out. It will be a thrill to see such beautiful turbo's and meet each owner.
No doubt yours will be the sexiest out there. It's got the aerodynamics, wheels etc.. interior. The most HP doesn't always win either... It's being able to put that HP down and controlling it I guess that matters

deanger,

Everyone knows you can't run nitrous in a Porsche 996tt. Why then would it be a concern?

Just think of it as another turbo charger and it will make you feel better.

watt, deanger, racer63,

If one of you would like to enter, just let us know. After the professional drivers run the cars, there should be some extra time. You are welcome to show them what ten tens is all about. I'm sure Dave would make a note in his article as to how well some of the owners did themselves.
Yes yes but just make sure you're running 7/10ths on the drag strip too

I have one too. It's a little hokey in places. I mean the mph on the 1/4mile runs is usually off but it does have some nifty features.

LOL well I went on my low-boost setting and my car had a few issues that night so you can say I tried to prematurily ejac... My doing and somebody was chicken with my waste gates (I'll own up). But let's just say mid-11s with more to come I'll know more when I go soon with the right set up this time...

Anyways, you guys are gonna let the Tip win one aren't ya?

PS Don't worry though. In the spirit of drag racing we're going to Tub the rear and run 15 inch slix in the rear

As a courtesy to the participants I have either talked to or e-mailed them before making this announcment. I have a bit of bad news. The shoot out is being canceled. I know there will be questions, however I cannot answer them at this time. Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks Chad.
I love your signature Fred! 2 of the best cars in the world in one garage. I drove the Cayenne TT about 2 months ago, and really liked it. It is the ultimate SUV.

Cheers.

Guys, don't waste your time. I've been to at least 5 private "shoot-outs" while this thread has been going on. Just do your own thing and let us know the results!

To say I'm disappointed, shocked, and frustrated would be a gross understatement.

So I think it's time to take matters into our own hands.

Who's up for renting Willow Springs sometime and doing our own little "Shootout?" I think there is enough variety of tuning styles to make an interesting event, even if the S-Car-Go car can't make it.... I just want to see how my setup stacks up against the rest.

I'm in. If nothing else, I'd like more track time. And I say we make another day of it at Meridian on their 4WD dyno. Just to get some additional data.
