I would be in for our own shoot out, let's rent a track and set up a Dyno. Drag strips are easy to go to. We should make this happen!

 

Unfortunately I will have to bow out. The effort and the fast track we were on is no longer needed nor has quiet the value that it did if Excellence was there, C&D or R&T. We were scheduled to fly back and forth from KC/WA/CA to ready the car. That takes a ton of effort, time and resources to ready a car from a far. My value box has gotten a whole lot less.. Now if it becomes officially picked up by a magazine then we will turn the switch back on.

 

800 HP and no ***** to match.

so none of the networks picked up chad's TV show. the only demographic that bought the concept was young black incarcerated males, and they have little discretionary income... so no advertisers. oh well

chad your audience might buy one more charade but it needs real creative behind it, Regis and Dean know some good writers, we'll get them in... [somehow i doubt dean will write it himself]

because if you don't pull it off this time, you're thru in Hollywood

 

It sure seems that someone on this list would have a contact at one of the major mags and they would be interested in this article. Anyone???

 

Okay...so I'll ask the obvious question...what caused this turn of events?

 

I will contact European Car and Car and Driver. We have relationships with both.

 

If the shootout occurs in the East or the midwest, I will consider stepping up to the plate with additional mods to compete.

FWIW, I do believe nobody OWES anybody an explanation, however if people want to retain their credibility there should be one.

My guess is even without an article everyone participating in this would stll do it. So I guess I am curious whose decision was it to cancel? Was it made be everyone? I surely hope so.

Otherwise, and I say this with all due frustration, all of this shoot-out -- ultimate car -- looking to improve -- blah blah is going to be exposed for what it is.

I have to agree with deanger and others,

What is the need for secrecy on the cancellation? Things happen so just tell us. On the other hand, if this was some form of sorry manipulation, many of us will not be impressed.

So, what gives, and if you can't tell us why, can you just offer even some hypothetical reasons to cancel the event?

Duane, glad to hear there is a valid explanation. Whatever the reason was, I think an explanation is in order.

I am the type of person who Hates B.S. So if something happened just tell me the facts. I then understand what really happened and don't start second guessing peoples actions.

Whatever the reason, please do share for all of us who don't know. That is only fair to all who have spent time reading and responding to this thread.
