turbomusclz is infamous around these parts
How much HP is possible?

Looking to do some work to my turbo. Was wondering how much hp is possible without larger turbos? Was looking to do flash, exhaust and headers etc.

Search is your friend. Stock K16 cars can produce 500-530hp with bolt-ons.

Flash and exhaust, everything else is a waste of money as far as power adders go, I speak from experience. Stock turbos will give 5-10hp maybe and cost you alot. Lose some weight, you and the car. You can save nearly 100lbs, with spare/tools out, lighter battery, GT2 wing, wiper and rear seat delete, and lighter wheels/tires.

So you saying even just a reflash is a waste?? Its not just 50-80hp but driveability. Call a tuner.

intake, exhaust, and tune can get you +100 hp at the crank on a 996tt.

The best bang for the buck,,,flash and exhaust....After that lots of money and time and its not as rewarding as those basic big original gains,,,unless you plan on doing lots of mods and spending....Believe me I know,have been there done that....It is a disease,once you start ,its never enough......lol....There are many doctors/vendors out there that will help you with that disease....lol.....There are many threads to look up and research....Good Luck

air is king get in and get out = hp. the pipeing from the turbos make a big difference as does exhaust. this whole thing is an extremely slippery slope it never ends

I can not speak for every ones combination But Those inlet pipes did not do too much for me,at my level with K24/18gs.I do not think they would do anything for K16s or K24s ,as most tuners and members have said....But you never know until you try and try that and try that,etc...lol.......Its all good...

Do a flash and axhaust and be DONE with it....maybe a 16g upgrade with a 5 bar.

If you plan to keep your stock K16's, just get a flash and exhaust. It will be a different car. Even with supporting mods, stock K16 turbos just don't flow enough to be worth the expense. An upgrade to the 16G is very reasonable cost and a very respectable upgrade even without any supporting mods.

Why would you want to keep those ghey little K16s? Look into a package from someone like Switzer which will give you some man sized power. Do it all at once and its cheaper.

+1. Although the billet K16's seem to make great linear power for a stock turbo.
