I had this problem as well. went to the dealer and they reproduced it, took the tranny out, found the clutch plate was warped and replaced all the clutch assembly. gratis. Rusnak Pasadena. Glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem.

good luck and thanks for starting this thread Joe .

invoice

I am picking up my car today and I will have my invoice by late afternoon. What is interesting is they are replacing the clutch, bearing ,etc under warranty! Maybe because my mileage is 19,000?

It was the same problem that Joe West and other members experienced....the input shaft of the engine/ transmission only had a small application of grease and only at the very end. The balance of the shaft was dry and even had a few small rust spots. When you step on the clutch during deceleration the plate would hang up and still be partialy in contact with the pressure plate . This would not allow the gears to release easily....causing a "pop" and resistance through the shifter. It made it difficult to drive. Hitting the throdle realeases it due to diaphram increase in pressure probably. There is probably one mechanic in Germany that is trying to save Porsche money on grease!!!! I think he works on Fridays?
Since most of the cars don't have the problem , but many do! I really appreciate the value and exchange of this forum to uncover technical issues such as this. I know there are many TT owners driving around thinking that this car is just a notchy ****er. Now it feels incredibly great "like butta!" I printed the entire thread and made the service advisor read it he even called Porsche of Scottsdale...the first time he didn't believe it and replaced the clutch slave...same problem. I gave it a few hundred miles and brough it back...then they pulled the trans and "bingo" dry shaft just like the silly customer said I love it now!! Anybody with this problem should bring it in now!!!:

Still problem free....

An Update... still no problems with the fix... everything works perfectly now 8,000 miles after the fix.

BTW... Jamie, my service advisor who helped me fix the problem now works in the parts department at Scottsdale Porsche in Arizona... if you need documentation regarding how to fix this issue and want your local service advisor to talk to Jamie... have him call Scottsdale Porsche and ask for Jamie in parts.

Kind Regards,

Joe West

Glad I found this thread as I've been having similar symptoms every blue moon. Since my motor is out for other maintenance, it's convenient time to address it.

Funny that Sachs even makes it a point to do this, though I didn't see it in the Porsche manual when doing my SRE 2.5 clutch 10k miles ago. -http://www.zf.com/brands/en_de/sachs/technology_sx/workshop_tips_sx/greasing_the_hub_spline/Greasing_the_Hub_Spline.html

I didn't get any grease in my kit. Does anyone have suggestions as to an appropriate lubricant?
