would i be able to tell if this was caused by the drop links not being set up right or a flaw in the bilstein shock bracket?

Just from that picture it looks like the connecting bolt wasn't torqued down enough.

yeah the bracket on the bilstein broke off..now was the bracket flawed or the drop link not set up correctly? I have driven with the current setup for a long time. I recently switched from 19" to 18" wheels. I even drove all the way to goliad for the mile, raced and drove back the same day without any issues. Its weird that it happened out of nowhere...

I was following a Boxster on track when it's rear end started breaking loose back and forth. He had broken his rear sway bar. Metal fatigue, it happens.

Bracket

Hey I broke both of my rear brackets on my JICs. I went to a fabricator with my broken brackets and had some made of high grade steel. He said they were made from junk....

Good luck

I have the tarret drop links because Motorwerks in Houston, TX said the agency drop links would not work with PSS10 and GT3 sways. I bought the tarret drop links from Motorwerks and they were fine for a bit, but quickly started to rub. Motorwerks ordered additional spacers (another 10mm on top of the 80mm bolt) to space it out more so it would not rub.

After putting the car in the air, I noticed the other side is about to break also. This leads me to believe it is not the brackets fault, but how the drop links were setup and the added stress broke the bracket.

TRG makes the stoutest drop links I have seen. I have tracked my set for 3 years with no noise, no problems. The front one have a bend in the center rod which is probably for the clearance issue.

thank you...tarret drop links are also raved upon on this forum. The quality of the drop link was not an issue here..it had to be the install / how they were set up. I talked with Ira at tarret and he has never seen this issue before. I also talked to two techs at bilstein and they have not seen the brackets get ripped off before in a porsche application.

I don't track my car or take curves very fast...this was not metal fatigue...something caused it to break

here is a pic of the drop links...there was a lot of spacers used on the part that connected to the bracket...
