lowering question

How much can you lower the 996tt before needing additional parts to correct alignment? In other words, how much can you lower it on coilovers while maintaining good toe/caster specs? I'm assuming slight negative camber is common with these cars?

I think there are some people running GT2 height on stock parts outside the coilovers.

I am running GT2 ride height and alignment on coilovers with stock parts except adjustable rear Tarrett toe arms. I had adjustable rear upper control arms but removed them and replaced with OEM as they were not needed to achieve my alignment settings

Thanks, I assume you needed the toe arms to get it to the correct specs?

My car came with the adjustable toe arms so I can't tell if they were needed or not. I kept them on there since they are based on a Porsche part, make no noise ( unlike the adjustable dogbones) and make toe adjustment very easy.

Jasoneo5 is infamous around these parts
Is there any type of SS Kit to lower the car 10-15mm? I am happy with the suspension, and have no desire to swap it out...

Essientially A block that goes right above your lower control arm, which forces the car down. Used them on my old LS430 and E55k. Refer to these:

The 996TT I have is currently 110mm front and 120 rear......side-to-side slightly dif with corner bal.
This is 48 and 38 respectively below 2001 OE U.S. (offroad, agrarian) ride height.

This is fairly low......and is in the range of GT2.
This is coil-overs with adjustable DLs to H&R anti-sways.
No problem with getting alignment fairly close.

Hope that helps.

so if I lower the car with coilovers and adjustable dog bones, can I retain the stock anti roll bars and drop links?

I am not familiar with dog bones on Pcars.......bikes OK.
Yes to OE anti sways......but many find adjustable anti sways as one of the good tools in dialing out some of the understeer.....just sayin.

DLs.....my personal opin is that a Pcar should not be w/out adjustable DLs.....that's just me and wanting to have as much control on the setup as possible......and without adjustable DLs you're not corner balancing. To be honest I've never done anything w/out adjustable DLs.

Hope this helps.

you can go lower than a gt2 with what you have..

i currently went back to oem rear arms as opposed to "dog bones".. the only upgrade we did was to install adjustable toe arms.

my car is a bit lower than a gt2, and has an aggressive alignment at that....
my rear is at around 2.3 degrees of neg camber, at my request.
no problems here...

you can stick to gt2 specs (alignment) and be totally fine.

the more important question is what size tires are you running ....

nice !
mpss's run a bit wider and taller than the avg 305 30 19.
you have lots of room to go low and aggressive.
