I would never delete the rear wiper where I live. I use it all the time. It is extremely functional.

Get those markers changed! 100x better looking and they are a OE part.

I removed my rear wiper because it was the cause of a very bad paint scratch. I had the wiper arm rotated to the 90 degree position (relative to the rear window) to clean the glass, and accidentally bumped it. The wiper arm snapped back down but the wiper blade itself rotated on the wiper arm and contacted the paint causing a scratch that went down to the metal. Yes, it was my fault, but I was so pissed that I yanked the wiper and motor and installed a plug I bought from Bupmerplugs.com. I actually never used the wiper, so there was no loss. I like the clean look much better, and now there's never going to be a chance of damaging my paint again with the wiper.

I've seen it both ways and I just don't really notice the difference. The wiper serves a function, but I'll agree that I've only used it a few times. Usually, only after the car has been parked in the rain and I'm ready to back up. Of course, for those who don't drive the car in the rain.....

I completely agree with the comment about this site corrupting me though

In this case, it's not because I'm worried about being OEM -- I just haven't gotten around to it (or wanted to spend the $$) because it hasn't bothered me. Maybe if I stare at it for a while, I'll see the light.....

Ouch! Now this reason I can resonate with. I'd be pretty pissed too if it scratched my car. In fact, I've heard of another problem with wipers in general -- you have to be careful when you change out the blades. If the arm swing back without the blade, it can shatter your windshield.
