Is the Valentine 1 portable

Try to call V1 but they put me waiting for 7 minutes without any chance to talk to anyone and having in mind that Iテつエm in Europe you get the ideia.

Anyway, i would like to know if the V1 is portable for one car to another just like all theother radars.
You just place it on the windshield and thatテつエs all, or do you need to put it in some hide place and than put the antenas on the back and front of the car, making it less portable?

Thanks in advance.

Yep - it's portable - just like others.

J.Seven,

Yes, you can easily move the V1 to another car as you described. The power cord simply plugs into your cigarette lighter and the unit mount sticks to the windshield via suction cups. The V1 mount is the best and easiest to work with that I have seen. It has a lever that will release the suction cups when you need to remove/reposition the unit.

Please let me know if you have any further questions!

I have been trying to buy a V1 (new) for a month and keep checking Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.

I know they are available somewhere but the factory for less then $399 plus shipping???

Where can I get one of these say for $350 all inclusive?

There cant be a monopoly on these things. I just need a source to buy this other than the factory.

Thanks

Ebay has page after page of radar detectors for sale. 20-30 will probably be Valentines. Make sure to buy a V1 with the most recent version of software or you will need to send it in for a flash upgrade.

I 2nd that!!! Got clocked this weekend in SC for speeding at a speed which I won't disclose on here... Cop said he used Ka band and mine didn't go off. The thing that sucks about it was that I was going to send the V1 in for the POP upgrade when I got back into town

I bought extra suction cup mounts and just move the detector from place to place.

Word to the wise on eBay sales -- lots of these have been reported to be stolen from cars - u don't want to get one of those -- ask the seller for the serial number and call Valentine before you buy.

u can also input the serial number on the valentine website to see if it needs or can use an upgrade.

Valentine ROCKS

The strange thing is that every radar detector, cobra, passport, etc is available at a discount with a lot of competing stores in the game.

Valentine must have brass ***** to think it has a corner on the market. I guess this is one instance where there is no free trade.

I did bid on one on ebay. I big $339. I got a email that it sold for $389 plus shipping.

P-T Barnum was right, who would pay $10 less for a suspect unit. I just dont get it.

Called V-1, they never have sales on these but....

If you give them you CC number and charge $359, you are put on a waiting list and will be in line to get the next "returned within 30 days" unit with a full warranty. They get a bunch of returns during holidays and a few each month. I would be number 8 on the current list and guaranteed to get a unit eventually.

I may do that to save a few bucks.

It is only $40.00 bucks buy a new one that you know no one has messed up. Why mess with the hassle of getting a returned one that may be screwed up.

Its not the $40 at all. I just bought a $2K wide angle lens for my Nikon at a NY Photo Shop for a nice discount. Its the principal of the thing and how they get away with price fixing.

I probably will get a brand new V1 but will always be a little PO'd that this product isnt distributed by our local stores and is never on sale. Even P cars are discounted!!

If I were Mike and sold every V-1 I made, I would not discount either. For what that thing has saved me in tickets and insurance, it is easily worth $2,000 (Don't get any stupid ideas, Mike)
