Is this for real. See it with your own eyes. I can't believe it.

Seems like the 997 got the jump on the Turbo, but PDK cars are no joke.

PDK may be an advantage through the gears, but to pull a TT!? I call a foul here. Possible driver error as on paper the TT should prevail. kenny

First the TT is heavier and AWD. The new 2S cars are making nearly 400 hp and have less drivetrain loss and are probably 300+ lbs lighter. Yea... it'll be faster. Now... give that turbo a tune and it'll be back on top.

I agree. The new 2S isn't that much less powerful and with the PDK it will shift amazingly quick and always be in it's powerband. Also, the TT will have some turbo lag. Add the weight difference and that video is completely believable. If I were to upgrade my car at some time I would strongly consider a 997TT with PDK.

Remember, the 996TT/GT2 is the Metger racing motor which can easily handle more than double the stock cars hp.

All you need are the right mods and tuning.

Sounded like the TT should have been 1 gear lower to start to be in the power band.
With a good tune and 6M car, I think there would have been a different outcome.

But, it is what it is. Stock for stock the 997 2S PDK vs 996TT k16 Tiptronic should be a pretty even race if the drivers know what they're doing.

I agree w/ all the guys above, especially with mine. Unless the turbos are already spooling, if I go WOT, it takes at least 1-2 seconds for the turbos to spool up. While cruising, even if I were at 3k rpm, my turbos will be at 0 bar. I guess it's the way I drive. But when I get on it, there's nothing as gratifying as getting that feeling of being pushed back into your seat as the turbos kick in.

The turbo is a tip! Quite slower then a 6spd in stock form.

the 996 seemed to be catching him top end, which makes perfect sense.

That definitely looks like the Turbo started in the wrong gear if that's possible with a Tip (and late on top of that). Other than the start it was faster the whole time. So no, the C2S is not faster.

I'm not familiar with Tips, but I've seen some accelerate a whole heck of a lot faster than that from rolling.

Could he have maybe preselected a gear instead of letting the car downshift? A 6 speed would walk that car.
