Dallas Auto Show

OK so snuck in this a.m., didn't realize it doesn't open until 4 p.m. Fortunately on the way in a woman and her child were bringing groceries to her husband who was trying to win a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck by keeping his hand on it for as long as possible.... .....so I helped her carry in the groceries and got a close look at some great cars!!! unfortunatley forgot my camera but went up on the stages and got a close look at...

BMW M5 - totally unimpressed. Maybe I'm tainted by my 545i experience but it does nothing for me.

Z06 - I like the body treatments, the interior is identical to the regular vet (cheap and plasticky) except for "Z06" in the headrest. But, what do you expect for the price I guess

Ford GT - absolutely stunning in person. show stopper IMO

Chrysler ME412 - I really hope they produce this car - the interior on what appeared to be this "working" prototype reminded me of a Pagani Zonda

Range Rover Sport - Very cool - if the price is right and the engine is powerful this will be strong competition for the Cayenne and Merc ML. I also see they are put a supercharged motor in the full size RR - just what it needed.

Saleen S7 Twin Turbo - 2900 pounds, 750 hp, need I say more? jeesh

next time we should do a local 6speed "go to the show together" kinda thing ... Hussein, Nash, You, etc ...

In fact I was over at The Lodge (uhmm, it's an upscale restaurant) the other night and saw about 12 Ferrari's when I ran to my car ... turned out the whole FerrariChat krew was there ... met a few of them

I have to disagree on the ford comment. I saw it and the concept daytona coupe at the LA auto show. In person the GT looks kina **** poor construction and the interior is hedious. the rear bumper on it looks totally out of place. IMO.

I agree on the ME412 that car looked hot.

The GT is a tribute to the GT40, hence the "retro" interior. I think they did a great job. The fit and finish looked great to me.

The fit and finish is decent (much better than the Vette), but the problem was that they used a lot of parts from the Ford parts bin. For example, the stalks on the steering wheel are straight out of a Ford Focus.

I do much prefer the interior of the F430....it's in a differnet league, but wouldn't be appropriate for the GT.
