Growling is back ;-(
I'm willing to bet that your car did not have this "problem" for the most part when it was cold(er) outside. I believe this problem manifests itself more when the outside temps are fairly warm because when it's hot the oil stays thinner longer after shutdown and drains more easily off of your valves, lifters, etc. Also, your ims chain tensioner will leak down a little quicker when the oil is thinner and the sound you hear for a brief second or two is a combination of the lack of oil on your valves and lifters but for the most part it is the rattle you hear as a result of the slack in the timing chain. As soon as oil pressure builds in that 1 or 2 seconds, voila, slack in the chain is gone and the noise is gone. In the winter, or with colder outside temps, after you shut down your engine the oil will become thicker faster and will be less likely do drain off of the engine internals and will also prevent your chain tensioner from leaking down as fast. GT3 guys have this also....
Let's us know JP because you got me kind of worry because you know so much of mecanics and now you are stack with this.
I don't know anything and the dealer has five years only

Good luck

If you think the 996tt makes noises at start, you should see the BMW e39 M5. It takes a moment for the vanos system to pressurize - sounds like an old truck
If you are really concerned, you could always introduce a positive pressure system like an accusump. - http://www.accusump.com/
However, given the engine is already a dry sump, it would be somewhat irrelevant aside from start up.

Mine makes the same noise as well. I posted on here after I first got the car and everyone said don't worry about it. I called several Porsche mechanics as well and all said don't worry about it, normal. I agree it doesn't seem like a noise that should happen. Mine does it for about 2-3 seconds though before it goes to normal idle. It makes a different strange noise right as the oil pressure spins up. You can hear it on my video right before it goes to normal idle. Does everyone elses do that too?
No, my car doesn't sound like that. It sounds exactly like that first video. 1-2 seconds of the lifter filling up which is 100% normal. Your noise sounds like 1 lifter or 1 piston.
Now the cars do have a rich start program which makes them loud and gurgly for a few minutes after a cold start as well, but your sound seems unique to me.

Yeah I don't think this has anything to do with the rich start program. That's a different sound and goes on for a few minutes until the car starts to warm up.
Just got my oil report back from Blackstone and all is well. Nothing unusual. Wear metals are all at or below their averages so obviously this valve chatter at cold start is not causing extra internal wear. Happy to see this report.
