Upgrades done, San Diego Po-Po Pissed Off

The driveline upgrades are done, took the car home on Friday. Now boosting 1.5 bar. Car is ridiculously fast for freeway duty. Speedtech 3.0 Loud exhaust is civilized cruising at even 4000rpm. Jumping on it leads to shrieking. Love it.

That leads us to todays adventure with the San Diego police department.

I have a small 5000 sq ft warehouse I use as extra garage space in San Diego. So I had the TT there today and washed it and before throwing a cover over it and swapping cars I decided to enjoy the exhaust again.

I got my foot on it in front of the overhead door and the building acted as a bandshell. Half a city block worth of industrial alarms went off and the police showed up as I was leaving.

I had some 'splaining to do.

Cops were NOT happy. Like I give a crap. Useless ticket pushers never show up for 30 minutes unless they can write a ticket. I told them if they were going to have a cow, make me a cheeseburger.

And I drove off.

No ticket. They came to see why all the alarms were going off. People should set the sensitivity of their glass break sensors lower. I just didn't like their attitude. I swear they all sit around shooting up HGH and lifting weights all day. They all act like they have roid rage.

When the C63 is done in November (interior, ICE and Widebody still to go) I'm starting on an Audi R8 V10.

I love it when people with means really go for it haha. What color is the R8? You're gonna need more garages...

Yeah, just two or three revs in a totally commercial area on a Sunday. Nobody around to bother except those pesky glass sensors.

Thank you for asking. It would definitely be a concern.

For a few hundred dollars VP can supply electric pumping stations with flow meters. Its almost like going to the regular gas station. The hose even shuts off automatically.

The weirdest thing about it is Harleys have a free pass. I used to live right next to a route where a lot of crusing went on (bikes/classics). Sundays in the end were just horrible, trains of 20-50 Harleys would stop at the intersection(s) and you can imagine the sound of them starting again, one after the next, for minutes (they are slow so the sound takes a while to dissappear). An open exhaust 996GT2 would not have a chance to get heard around that. You think PD cared about it?

But when the sound comes from a sports car they just have to be all over it.
