A must-read vendor story...
A must-read vendor story...
I upgraded to 350 mm Girodiscs on the front of my car about 2 years ago, and did the rears last year. Great product, but that's not the story here...
The slots were getting pretty shallow up front, so I ordered new front rings and mounting hardware from Rennstore for the fronts. They arrived back in March, and I was having some other stuff done, so I had my indie shop install them. They were clearly marked left and right, with different part numbers on the boxes, so he installed them without looking at them too carefully.
I was at the track a couple of weeks ago, and one of my buddies looked at the LF, and said "Hey, these are on the backwards!" (The vanes are supposed to point opposite the direction of rotation.) Looking more carefully then, I realized that I had gotten two right side rotors.
Called Craig at Rennstore, and he said "Let me talk to my supplier, who is RSS." I got an email a couple hours later asking for a photo. Sent them the photos below, and then got the following email in response, forwarded from RSS:
Please let your customer know we will send him (2) replacement rings and
hardware kits for both a new left and new right rotor with hardware so he
can reassemble them. Instructions will be provided as well. All no charge of
course...
They arrived today. I am incredibly impressed at how they acknowledged their mistake, stood behind the product, and made it right. What a great experience. RSS and Rennstore go to the top of my list of vendors.
Thanks guys!
Jon

I agree - RSS stands by their orders. I ordered spacers from them and the incorrect size came for the fronts. No questions or problems, they immediately shipped new ones along with return UPS labels. Very pleased with the way they do business.
