statepkt is infamous around these parts
Open your driver door and the electrical fuse panel there.

There is a little jumper spot (red stickish thing that comes out) where you can connect a battery backup device. This will provide power to open the hood so you can re-connect the battery

Even if the battery is disconnected?

It should work because that's the way we open the forward trunk when the battery is completely dead....

The wire is a pain to find. Use the trick in the user manual, connect battery charger to the + in the fuse box, - to the door latch thing on the body/chassis. Then pop the trunk the normal way.

Tried the wire which was a pain to find and still couldn't yank it to pop the hood so ended up trying the fusebox trick wich worked like a charm. Wish I had tried that option first!

Thanks guys for your help!

Fuse box trick does work pretty well. A little annoying, but works

No problem.

That was the first thing I learned how to do on my TT because I had a dead battery. Certainly easier than fishing for wires :P
