PSM / ABS failure drive to workshop...
wow, how long ago did i need that info?! lol. wish my treads lasted as long as these threads. that was back when i had 225/40 fronts against 315/30's rear, i think? i'm now properly fitted at 235/40 x 315/30 and only got squirelly once today at 5000+ feet. i'm blaming altitude
Right when I stopped in front of the house, the error came back?!? When it happens I get a really rough idle and it sounds like it wants to die right before it revs back up. No CEL though?! I wonder if it stored any codes? I may have to find someone to get the codes read. I'm afraid it will be eternal guess work otherwise.
we shouldve at least read it out dont you have an obd reader?. but i got a cel too ( my tb needs cleaning ) at the bottom of the hill, which was like 25 mi down. un fkn believable that mountain sheesh. what like 50 miles up and 50 down!? i swear, i couldve ended up in palm desert at the END of a 3day wkend.. we put some miles on.. next time. beach/canyons and i'm buyin.
i think your maf is toast
add: altitude. that'll cause a cel. lol

I'm thinking MAF as well. Why would PSM/ABS cause a rough idle; wouldn't make any sense?!
That road is long for sure! I'm actually tired from driving LOL I'll have to dig up my pics and post them up.
Did you just have PSM issues or did you get the "PSM/ABS failure drive to workshop message" ? I still set off my PSM on occasion but it's just my crappy stock suspension that triggers it; I just turn it off now when I'm out for a spirited run. Need to get some coilovers though; the handling is too spooky when you start pushing it.
get the actron 9550 or the next model up on ebay. perfect for guys like us that can;t do sh*t about what the code is anyway.. but it does help to know thr number and also helps with resetting readiness codes etc. i'd say get a durametric.. but it's more than i can use/need.
75 bucks on ebay. actron yellow/orange chinese ( red?! ) obd scanner/reader. you'll know it's from china as the label says on it "contains lead, wash hand if you touch" )
i'm not making this sh*t up.
Yea, that's what I meant. PSM failing wouldn't cause a rough idle but a failing MAF causing the PSM error could make sense. If it can't read the air intake/throttle correctly, PSM probably wouldn't know when to intervene. I'm betting my money on the MAF. Will read codes first though.

it's a tricky thing to get used to.. being in control when the car thinks you *may not be* and decides to help. it is, at that point, i will *almost*
let it do what it do
but i'm just now old enough now to think i want the car without any of the nannie helpers or drivers assist. my govt is enough

add: youve gotta grab a obd reader for 75 bucks lol
Craziest thing happened to me after I took apart the whole back end of the car to replace my spark plugs. I did my 30k mile service and went to open her up on the freeway on ramp and then my driver side upper boost hose popped off. I could really hear my turbos, but had no power and then my PSM and ABS lights came on. I then limped home and took a look. Sure enough the boost hose wasn't seated well enough when I put the retaining clip on. I remedied the problem and cranked her up.. no lights and she runs like a champ now!

. I've always wondered why threads here don't lock out after some period of time of inactivity (e.g. 3 or 6 months). I've seen some other forums that do that -- you can still read the thread, but you can't post to it anymore.
underlying issues, be damned
