Question for those who sourced their own parts for the GT2 slave upgrade...
It seems that it's taking a long time for the clutch servo spring part to come from Germany like 5-8 weeks to complete the GT2 slave upgrade. My question for those that did this mod is this:
What happens if you leave the original servo spring instead of replacing it with the new part? Any drawbacks - what happens? I am thinking of doing the upgrade now and just change out the servo spring when it comes since that part is actually in the cabin near the clutch pedal? Anyone care to comment?
Thanks!

Thanks all. The interesting thing is that the part no. 996 423 081 18 which replaces the original part no. 996 423 081 13 as the GT2 clutch servo spring is actually for the boxster! Go figure!
sorry for bringing a old thread back to life but i have a quick question: Is this the spring you guys are talking about GT2 assist spring part number 996 423 081 13 , I am in the process of gather the last few parts in order to finish up my own gt2 slave conversion. According to tm and ttboost i will not need this...Right?

A couple guys don't use it but I think most guys still do, I actually prefer the springier response. It's not a very expensive part I'd still order it. Hate to start a job and not be able to try the "full" effect and then you decide if you do or don't want to run it.
I did the EVOMS GT2 clutch swap and was going to do finish it up with the clutch spring but it rolled away and haven't found it yet... haha ... so far I actually don't mind not having it... maybe one day when it comes out from hiding i'll put it in.
This is probably due to the fact that the Boxster clutch is also "non-assisted", like the GT2 - only the turbo has the accumulator and assisted clutch. I remember reading that Porsche felt the heavier clutch in the turbo, if non-assisted, may be uncomfortable for the target demograhic "new" turbo buyer at the time - basically and older audience spending 120-140K for the car when new...so they softened it up to make the car easier to drive...
