changing out 996 seats

has anyone changed to the 997 seats? is this a tough one ? really like the style/pattern of the 997's, they seem to stay newer looking, maybe cause they are... anyway, some stone grays available over here, depends on the difficulty factor, airbags and all the wires will probably need to be re-paired(?) to plug into each other...just guessing so far,

Search for 997 GT2 seats. A couple of guys have added them, from what I remember all you have to do is re-use the 996 seat belt connectors, think disconnect the airbags, and do a DME reset to eliminate the passenger seat warning light. The carbon one's are supposedly very comfy, but I have not had the opportunity to sit in them. Check Suncoast Porsche parts, used to have a special running on the all leather ones for less that 6k shipped.

If I could swap in 997 sport seats with alcantara and somehow maintain full functionality and seat memory, it would be a miracle. It seems like a pipe dream, though.

I have now 997 Sport adaptive seats in my 996 Carrera. Everything works now, only lumbar support on driver side will not work. I think for memory would be very hard.

well i did...spend the money and

have a beeutiful set of 997 gt3 alcantaras...mostly base/manual seats, don't care cause they are very comfortable and look really goood, now i must get that one switch to work, i think it is for the angle of the back, and the heating would be nice if i can figger it out...if not...and the airbags will be a challenge as well, anyway the search is on for possible diy's or help...anyone like to share?, there will be pics at some point, tia,
