I got my - new to me - TTurbo on the lift today just to check things out especially around the headers / exhaust/ turbo's just to have another look at the lungs of my car.
The turbos' are marked (part of the Housing when it was forged or molded) Garrett and they have a smaller filed down area that has TIAL Sports engraved in it. I could not read any other numbers but an invoice I got with the car stated some work was done to install hybrid turbo's. This happened around 2006. So I am wondering what type it would be (I assume TIAL did not have too many options in 2006).
And, for the exhaust aficionados under you. It's Fabspeed with Amira 100 Cell cats through a one piece Fabspeed exhaust with the nice Turbo tip.

How about a pic? It would not be a GT2860 if it is in a K24 hot housing. Also stage 1 would not have the tial hybrids.. Just saying.

 

put pics up and we'll be able to tell right away. i both teh old tials and the new tials. its most likely a K16/Gt28 or K24/Gt30 hybrids.

 

Hi folks.
So the car is back from the shop ( new passenger side radiator) and checking on some right rear heatshield rattle and the pictures I tried to make are just not in focus - damn Android cell.
Looking at the invoice from The Speed Gallery again. The invoice is dated 11/15/2006. It has listed the following items:
1/ K-24 turbo upgrade
2/ Header kit for K-24 hybrid turbo's
3/ Stage 4 ECU upgrade

and looking at the turbo's yesterday . They are Garrett turbo housings and each of them has a flat area filed on the side of the housing where the TIAL emblem "TIAL Sports" is engraved. I could not see anything else :-.
So that is all I've got at the moment.

Yep SmartAlex... My Turbo was sooo fast this morning it blew my calendar straight into the future!!

 

LOL .. Good one. If the turbine housing is not the cast stock K24 housing and the stainless tial ones you have alpha's.

 

Does it look like this? if so its a Tial K24/GT3071 hybrid.

 

OK Nothing is easy, so if you look at the first picture of the set of 3, that prodigymb sent (thanks!)
It is a cast housing. It has the Garrett name in the cast exactly as per the picture. The TIAL Sports emblem ( logo ) is engraved on a diamond shaped flat surface where the "A/R 50 M 24" information is shown.

 

does hot side look the same? most tial turbos have the tial engraving

sounds like K16/gt28's as we use E covers on the 30's which do not have the flat space
