well this is what I am working on
I spent the day Sunday taking stuff off the car (current exhaust cargraphics race with 100 cell cats)

Yesterday I got my FVD straight pipes


I was so anxious to install these things that I left my office early to go and install them. I was doing it at home but quickly realized I was going to need some help so I slapped the rear plate on and drove mad max style to my friend's shop


the 100 cell cats are huge so the access to the bolts was limited and it was a royal PITA to take them off, had to take off the ICs

but finally installed them

I drove back home 20 miles and this thing is LOUD!!! my phone died so I could not get video but I will today once I install the bumper etc.

haha they are indeed loud.. I am going to hold out for 2 weeks. I am driving to Montreal and back then I will decide if they stay..

I like the loudness but it takes from the "luxury" of the car and usually going out on dates I don't see girls appreciating the loudness lol but personally i think it gives it a sportier more manlier sound hahaha

 

How much more of the turbo howl do you hear?

 

Big dater Cassanova!!!! I won't take a girl in my car, between trying to talk over the motor, and the stiff as slammed suspension, girls are just miserable in there. I use my Wrangler for dating purposes, I have been with girls for 4 months at a time and they never ride in the Turbo some don't even ever see it.

 

As someone sitting on a pair of these (FabSpeed, not FVD), but not yet having installed them, I'm a big fan of your thread so am tuned in for updates.

 

What turbos are you running?

 

i have these and the car sounds like a jet, there is a video of me just driving around. i love them and the sound grew on me. I learned to keep them at certain RPM's where they are quieter then my 3" catless exhaust was. And i love the priceless look on peoples face or the WTF just drove by.

 

These are indeed beasts with K16 turbos- can't imagine what Blockheads setup sounds like person, but you can hear everything the turbos are doing.

ok so yeah I have to agree with the comment about getting ready for your ears to bleed haha

I took the car out for a drive and after 20 minutes my brain was shacking, my jaw hurt and my ears were about to pop lol

I am running GT28s and they sound awesome, I am giving it 2 weeks to see if the sound grows on me.. I already had my first encounter with the cops and they gave me a warning but pulled me over mostly for no front plate

a little preview, I finished putting everything back together late and could not get any of my friends to come out with me and my damn go pro was out of battery
