Where to buy ROll BAR for Turbo.

When I find a Turbo I want to install a roll bar, I do not want to full roll cage but the one that is like the GT3 Roll bar with out the huge cross brace going threw the middle of it. So I can put people in the back seat..preferably females!!

Call Foreign Affairs, ~30% off list.

It's Porsche Tequipment, stainless steel, without the cross brace. Should run around ~$600.

I like my porsche tequipment roll bar and I've seen the DAS-Sport one done up nicely too. Easy enough install but to be honest take either of them on a racetrack and any tech inspector will tell you that they are both junk and hardly very functional

sharky...

I'm thinking of getting a roll bar soon. Which one would provide the best protection in an accident and also minimum fuss as far as exit and entry?

Hey Chris for the Super High End Porsche 996 TT Shoot Out we should do a "roll over" test

Seriously though, I've asked a few tech/race car guys about both and the consensus is the two out there are junk. If you wanted to do something proper it would cost a lot, mean there would be welding to the chasis and so on... On the flip-side, do I feel a little safer with mine in there, yes I guess so? But I don't believe it'll withstand a full blown roll...

Part numbers

Boston7777,

The part numbers you're looking for are:

Panamericana Roll Bar 996-580-980-00 List Price $702.01
Rear Seat Removal Kit 000-044-801-63 List Price $107.95

I just received these myself. I received 10% off from my Porsche dealer. Someone else posted that they bought these from another source at a larger discount.

This is the roll bar without the cross members.

Boston, Either one of the GT3 Porsche rollbars with or without crossbar will require rear seat removal, therefore no rear seats for the females.

You can actually install any of the Porsche Tequipment rollbars while leaving the rear seats in place. Met a RUF R Turbo from CT. with this setup.

The one in the picture below...is this the one with the cross brace? Does it block the rear view when looking through the mirror?
