I received some impressive data from member zbrown on his rx7 on 26" 275 drag radials. The mod list must be impressive since the the run was a 4.09s 60-130!! He also has a 3.42s 100-150 on the same run!
Congrats Zac!!

QUESTION:

For those who went from AWD to RWD at the same power level, any significant differences in your 60-130 times or traps speeds?

1. AWD 60 to 130 mph = 8.4 seconds -1.9% slope 55F

1a AWD 60 to 130 mph = 8.1 seconds -1.9% slope (consistent) 55F

2. AWD 60 to 130 mph = 7.9 seconds -1.9% slope (one off) 70F

2a. RWD 60 to 130 mph = 7.4 seconds -1.9% slope (consistent) 85F

3. RWD 60 to 130 mph = 7.0 seconds -3.1% slope (unofficial) 82F

Car changes were

1. AWD with AWE tune versus

1a. Eurodyne tune AWD

2. AWD Tim941NYC Eurodyne pro-tune and injectors, E20 and powershift

2a. RWD Tim941NYC Eurodyne pro-tune and injectors, E20 and powershift

3 Tim941NYC Eurodyne pro-tune and injectors RWD, E20 and power shift

If I can adjust the tune for E85 or get a file from Tim I think a 6.7-6.8s 60 to 130 mph is possible with boring old stock K24s.

RWD measured vs AWD with the same tune was about 0.4-0.5 seconds 60-130 mph but I only did a few runs before Tim upped the ante... car has K24 stock turbos

Traction and equal 60fts are too hard to consider. Better is a roll-on 5-60mph time.

I cannot launch for sheet so my best current 0 to 60 mph off the PBOX is 3.8 seconds... when I do 1/4 mile stuff it huffs and puffs and snorts like a bush pig, spins wheels, dips the rear end and gets the front a little air borne... In RWD it really is not a car that likes being revved in 1st to do a clutch drop and proper launch. I am doing at best 2.2 s 60 foot, but usually 2.4s. Before I could do a sub 2s 60 foot on the AWD and did a 3.5s to 60 mph.

Car is much better RWD though

Nice setup. Man I'm nervous pushing 26-28 lbs on the car already. Are you running c16, ms109, or e85? Yea I was suprised. I was expecting a mid 5 first pull was a 4.9 and couldn't believe it. Then a 5.2 going uphill lol. Keep us updated with your next attempt.
