Well members I would like to share my experience with another member from this forum. I lent the use of my cam timing plates and my Durametric cable. The plates he need to come to me but the cable was mailed to him after I met him and seen for myself that he was of good character , I would have mailed the plates but I am not sure they can be replaced! He even returned the cable by next day air and insured for the proper amount and all. He also gave me an adjustable cam chain tensioner that he made (nice piece to boot). All in all it was nice to put a face to a name and reinforce the all people are not bad! Happy Holidays
RennFab. Stand up guy in my book. He is a new member here and I was a bit uneasy but when he said he would come to me I was ok with that. Now that the ice is broken its all good for him to borrow any of my tools. The real point is we are a community and this should the norm..
For those that don't know me, I had about $25K worth of tools, manuals, and my Bosch Hammer stolen from my old shop years ago. They never got replaced because insurance company didn't cover the items and as a result I moved and stopped working on Porsches for the general public. Tim here, saved my *** big time with the cam timing on a motor I built for a friends car..
Tim, man I should be the one making this post! I can't tell you how grateful I am for all the time, info, and tools allocated to me over the course of the past few weeks and really I'm in debt to you. I felt like the biggest pain in the a$$ with all the texts. You are truly a good man.
You let me know when the time comes for a cage in your beast and it's going to be my turn to return the tech favor. I'm glad you like the tensioner tool, and I have another tool for you as well to compliment that one (just need to know the spark plug thread type for the heads you're running).
Not only did I meet Tim on a Porsche level, but he's also a fellow gun/rifle enthusiast as well
. Definitely have to get some buddies together and go shooting one day. I've got some tannerite to get rid of hahah!

I'd like to send another thanks out to the OP... Tim was a huge help back at the beginning of the year when I was trying to diagnose what ended up being a broken timing chain. He even went so far as to send me a $200+ cam position sensor to try during initial trouble shooting after only one short chat on the phone. Once I found out the problem was much larger than a faulty sensor, I offered to send the CPS back to him ASAP and he simply said to hold onto it for the next person that needs to trouble shoot. I stumbled across it last night while doing some organizing in the garage and thought of this thread.
It's good to have 'brothers' all over the country and world for that matter...

I love to see threads like this, and want to believe that most people in our community are good and trust worthy folks. It's nice to see that it is indeed the case from time to time! Thanks for sharing.
