^^^ wow looks like the oddessey pc925 is the hot replacement for our cars! I like the tip on the mounting kit henry thanks... So what will I need - battery, strap to lift it into place in the car, possibly mounting kit... And the SAE auto terminals? Am I missing anything?

As for fitting apparently it'll fit fine in the standard spot w factory Hardware and shelf I assume....and I am hoping the strut bar should be ok since it goes just behind the factory battery.

As for chargers Looks like I will have to call ctek or look into the oddessy trickle charger or even the deltran battery tender ... Ideally I would like a unit that can maintain the sl55 Amg and gt2 at the same, factory mb on the Sl55 I think is Agm which I think the dry cell on the PC925 is as well, right?

Henry since your local I may ping ya for some help if that's ok where did you source the battery and charger ?

Absolutely. I just ordered all the stuff from Rennline (battery + mount). Used the terminals it came with no problems, either. The hardest part is getting the old battery out since it weighs like 50lbs

I ordered parts#:

EL30.35 Rennline Battery Mount Kit Odyssey 925
EL-PC925PC925T Battery - Odyssey 925 (notice the PC925T)

biobanker is infamous around these parts
Ive been through two PC925s in my ex-NSX. I wanted it because I kept killing the stock batteries due to lack of use! One week of no use and those batteries were gonzo.

First 925 was replaced on warranty due to dead cells.

Second one was ignored on a shelf for a year after I removed it from the NSX and ended up reading 2v when I checked it. I could not revive it using a standard charger, so I picked up a CTEK 3300 on sale.

Money well spent! It took awhile, but that little charger worked its magic pulses and cycles and after about two weeks on the charger, that 925 seemed to be pretty close to new.

I really liked being able to revive the 925 from moderate neglect, so thumbs up there, but I would pick up a 3300 if you end up with the 925 because it too has trouble when neglected.

The CTEK 3300 is not recommended by Odyssey. The CTEK 7002 is recommended. The 7002 is slightly more expensive but it seems to have a specific program for dry cell battery charging... so IMO it's worth the extra money.

edit: Seems they recently updated the list - the CTEK 7002 used to be recommended for the PC925 and now it's not... huh

Looking at the CTEK and Odyssey literature some more, it looks like both the 3300 and 7002 have an AGM charging mode. Odyssey recommends 10A charging current for the PC925. The 7002 is 7A charging current and the 3300 is only 3.3A. I don't think the charging current matters too much as most of us will be using the charger in trickle mode anyway.

But if you're buying a new PC925, it might be a good idea to get a charger on the approved list. That way if there are warranty issues with the battery (I think they have a pretty solid 2 year warranty) they can't deny you based on your charger.

Sounds good I will probably give them a call. Now what to do w my old battery coming out of the car...do I return that somewhere? get a credit for it or something? I dunno...?

Also where did you source your charger? I would get either the Oddessey charger or a ctek or deltran...would need to find out what the recommmend for the PC925, maybe ctek 3300 or 7002 looks like some options..

Okay placed my order. Henry I double checked the PN you gave and was on the phone with the Sales Rep over at Renline while picking out my order. Battery was like $190 but they said it lasts much longer than the standard lead acid factory batteries...the mounting hardware was around $105 they were running looks like a 15% off holiday special of their fabbed parts only, not re-sell parts though.

I am going to look into chargers for this...where did your charger?
