996TT Window problem..Arghhhhh!!!!

Howdy from South Australia
I have a slight problem with a window on the passenger side of my new 03 996 TT.

What happens is that when I open the door on the passenger side, the window drops to the full opening position all by itself. I note the drivers side works perfectly and the one touch is perfect as well. There is no one touch working on the passenger side that may indicate something as well to more experienced players.

Otherwise this car is mint and Im having a ball with my 2nd ever 996TT..

If anyone has any ideas, much appreciated.

Merry xmas to all from

Two Words...

window regulator. Do a search, you'll see numerous folks who had to replace theirs...seems to be a relatively common problem. Had to swap mine for the opposite reason, window would drop to proper position opening/closing the door.

window issues

Thanks TTTerrror,

Now being the land of Oz with our kangaroos and koala bears on the main st, we drive on the opposite side to you guys. So when ordering the regulator, I see it advertised as a front left or front right. So it is my passenger side door over here that is faulty and that would be your drivers side door, so which option is the correct one to buy?

I checked out the installation and looks not to hard, just a step by step procedure. I have not tried the reset the windows yet but from what your saying, very unlikely to be that and more commonly the regulator.
I can see them on the net between $116 to $164 depending on which side the unit is required for.

Many thanks for the heads up, will report back...

cheers
