What are the factory boost levels by 996 turbo model?

I did a search and didn't see everthing I needed.

STOCK BOOST:
Stock K16 car (414hp): .7 bar ?
Stock K24 car (: ?? bar
Stock later GT2 K24 car: ?? (476hp I believe)

I test drove a stock K16 car (I believe) that supposedely had a tune. The car appeared to have stock exhaust (it stated GT2 exhaust), intercooler pipes and diverter valves. It felt very strong, like I would expect a 996 turbo with a tune would feel, but I was suprised that it was only hitting 0.8 bar.

Thanks in advance for the help.
Steve

All the entry level tunes I have heard of it should go to 1.0 bar. A .8 showing could just be a boost spike at times. A gt2 exhaust is almost the same as a turbos oem exhaust. Only difference is the cap on the end of the cat is slightly open more. I don't think any guys feel there is any performance or sound gain from one to the other.
If its tuned you should get 1 bar in third at wide open throttle.

It's suprising that the X50 package adds 3psi and bigger turbos and only adds 36hp.

I'm wondering if the diverter valves were leaking, since it only hit 0.8 bar on a 60 degree day in 3rd. Still suprised how strong the car ran.

I have aftermarket exhaust, intake and DVs on mine and I get 0.8-0.9 bar of boost.

Car supposedly has a flash too but I start to doubt it as I think most flashed ones show strong 1.0 bar of boost.

My flash has been read yesterday so I will know soon if I have a stock tune that gives more boost because of other mods or maybe a very light reflash.

That slight varation of .1 bar is probably due to temp and gear load...If it were cooler out and or in higher gear it would go to .9...

If i'm not mistaken, the Turbo S cars had the same 450hp as the X50 cars and the GT2 only had 480hp in 2004 and 2005, before that they were only 456hp.

I have a flashed k16 car. Holds strong 1.0-1.1 bar even on the hottest summer days. But at times when it was still stock I would see .7 bar with temporary spikes of .8 bar.

if is so, it might be like "crank rwhp" ) for GT2 maybe, 450*1.05(est) = aprox. 480 hp. ????

In europe GT2 was rated 462 and 483 hp
996 x50 - 450 hp
996 turbo S - 450 hp, I will check if other power levels were produced
996 turbo - 420 hp

lot of "rounding up" going on with the numbers. the actual numbers US cars ( as i've come to understand them..? ) are

stock =414 hp though it's often "written" as 420.
x50 = 444 hp though it's also often "written" as "450"

the other numbers are either euro? numbers perhaps or people being generous with hp numbers.

I have a friend with a stock 2004 GT2, so I will check to see what boost he's running.

This will help fill it some more information.

Later, Steve
