Help Please :)

So ive done a lil research About the leak coming from the left front side of my 911TT and from what i can tell people are saying to change the clutch cylinder slave? or master slave? And There's this whistling noise when i turn and i just put petosin and it went away. But it still continues to leak ... i havent checked where its coming from but the fluid is oil based . Heres some pics of where it may be coming from

And Anyone have Shops In the San Fernando Valley that will do it at a decent price? I saw some DIY but i dont know if i will have time to do it. Any Shops??? Good SHops?

Also at cold start white smoke comes out of the exhaust but then goes away after 20 seconds. Any idea? Burning Coolant maybe?

the ps system is whining presumably because you're low on pentosin from your clutch reservoir leak, under the front bonnet. it's a shared system, with tons of threads on it so read up asap. bottom line is your accumulator is bad and the slave should be replaced also. once that's done, checking and keeping level of the pentosin constant in the rear should be a regular thing you check. if you get tired of doing this as a long time owner, there are options you might explore that will eliminate the shared nature of the clutch and steering hydraulics.

pentosin is particularly nasty sh*t so fix this asap. it's also flammable.

it's all normal.

and to your last query, there is only one reputable shop in sfv i would recommend you go to. i won't mention them here, but if you'd like a referral. pm me;..and good luck

This is what happened to me. That's why I switched to the gt2 slave. Much better.

It's your clutch slave cylinder. It needs to be replced along with the accumulator that's attached to it. As memtioned the GT2 conversion can be done for about 2 or 3 times the cost of this repair. The conversion is a one time fix while the slave may fail again. Most people that have converted report better clutch action but it also makes the clutch more stiff.

For the second part of the question about white smoke on start, normal on boxer engines. But a way to be sure you don't have coolant in your oil is to get your oil analyzed... ex: Blackstone http://www.blackstone-labs.com/

It can be a DIY but I would not say it's easy. The slave is above the transmission so it's a PITA to get to. Once you get it out you have to get the new one in which is harder since it's all by feel. It you have a lift it will be easier by a bunch. I was lucky, Mike Kelly did mine and I just sort of watched, helping where I could.

Good luck.

Agree with deskman. If you are a contributor on Renntech and want to see how it is to replace you can look at this diy: http://www.renntech.org/forums/tutor...r-replacement/

It is leaking in front because the clutch system is using pressure from the steering pump to relief tension needed to depress the clutch. Because of internal valve malfunctioning inside the slave the fluid under pressure from the steering pump reservoir found his way towards the clutch reservoir.... Pressure from the pump being higher....

There is some modification needed to convert to Gt2 style but all the parts are included in the kit or you will have to buy the parts separately + a special bracket. There is a good diy on this site made by gearhead: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...tructions.html
