Help. Please gt2 slave conversion shaft extension
Help. Please gt2 slave conversion shaft extension
I read a thread here that describes how to extend the slave cyl shaft for the gt2 conversion, but i cannot find it. Someone please link me.

also, while I'm waiting, can someone who has done the gt2 master/slave conversion chime in on whether or not you like the spot it engages? If enough people say its ok, I may not do it. What I read was that it engages too close to the floor and that will this mod it will be closer to the center of clutch travel.
Are you using a kit with the adapter bracket or doing it by tapping the case on the opposite side? The reason I ask is that if you are using a kit, I don't think you need to do anything to the shaft.

Is making an adjustable rod in the cards? Would it be able to be removed and adjusted without it falling into the bellhousing? If so and the slave could be unbolted, the rod adjusted to make everything right.
Generally in a hydraulic clutch, the pushrod is ever so slightly shorter than the distance between the fork when fully disengaged and the fully retracted slave piston cup. Too much play and the release point will be quite low close to the floor. If the piston is slightly preloaded (not good) the pedal might be too high and 100% disengagement may not occur.

thank you everyone. I used a dremel and ground the 996 slave shaft just like the gt2 shaft, now it pops in the slave and will not fall out. I can post a pic if anyone is interested.

A pic would be appreciated, thanks.
Guys whilst on this topic again......Just thinking back to when I did this mod. I had an idea, i'm sure some one has thought of this already but maybe you could explain to me why it wouldn't work....So I was thinking...the reason for going GT2 slave....are 2...one is the feel and 2 is the consistent bite point.....the major problem causer is the luvly ACCUMULATOR, when looking at the set up i thought, why can you not just remove the accumulator and block the holes up with a bolt that will thread in to the 2 holes for the accumulator feed and return?? Surely thats cheaper and much easier than all this GT2 business?
