Help Boys!!

Hey guys,

I was doing a do it your self project and Fed something. I was replacing the instrument surround to arctic silver. It all seemed to go well. I replaced the speedometer panel with the new silver instrument surround. I reconnected the battery, and turned on the car. I got an error message failure saying " failure of fuel level indicator", and my gas gauge says Empty, despite the tank being full. HELP.....anything I can do??????

Sounds like the connector behind the gauges is loose. Might need to check that.

Thats what it was I think. Unconnected and then reconnected all the gauges, then let her sit a few mins. Cranked it, and she is better than new!!! Eric, the parts looks awesome man. I will post pics soon!!! Thanks!!

By the way Eric, the pdf you sent me file for removing the cluster was perfect. It really wasnt too hard, except for the 20 mins or so of grief I had with the failure messages..

I thought a would add an addendum to this......a few years later !

I had the identical problem as Testndoc, except my car was throwing up multiple errors

Cause:
All of the instrument cluster connectors had clicked into place and latched correctly
.....but was one of them was actually sitting 2-3mm higher than the others !
Interesting that it can click and latch, yet not actually be seated properly !
Make sure they all seat to the same height !

[/end of today's Porsche trivia]
