dark.angel is infamous around these parts
Right, they didn't remove the alternator yet so this will be what they are doing now. I have seen the leak and it looks way too fast to be leaking from the engine itself unless it has blow out a big hole from it

Yup do not panic. I have a coolant leak from left side of the engine and today my mechanic took a look inthere, removed airbox, y-pipe and alternator and found a leak somewhere deep inthere, he told me there is a hard to reach coupling of a kind that leaks.

I guess it may be a typical problem.

My car leaks a bit to the garage floor but does not release any steam while driven.

Another victim of the coolant lines giving away- sorry to hear this, but much better than a new engine! If possible drop engine and get all water lines pinned or welded. See the other hot thread in topic.

Mine happened at the track and I ended up limping back to paddock. The temps did get nasty hot but car held up fine after repair. Make sure to get ALL of the air out of the coolant lines. I had to go back and replace my water pump as the shaft seal began weeping as well. Then the burning coolant smell goes on for a few weeks.

Good luck with repair and +1 for experienced P-Mechanic!
