Thanks for the links guys. My car already has most of the stitching done from the factory. But some items could be had in the devaiting stitching in 2002. Now I can fix that problem

Did you use the fine tip or medium??

Looks great, rep for you!

Wondering if I am brave enough to try this on grey leather... Did the paint seem to soak into the leather at all? On black leather it would be difficult to see, but on grey if it bleeds or soaks in it is going to be UGLY!

Have you put any leather conditioner / cleaner on the seats since you did this? I would also be curious to know if that causes the paint to bleed as it would in turn discolor a lighter leather.

Red or Yellow, then match up some other accents on your car with it including your seatbelts

I already have a silver matched center console. That makes the colored stitching difficult to make a decision on. I think blue is the only other color that would go with silver and black interior. Silver threads seem silly.

Okay, so I decided to test this method on a spare shifter boot I had laying around before I went on to destroying my interior. This is not as easy as paint and wipe. I was not able to get the paint to stay on the threads without letting it dry and then it is next to impossible to get off the leather. I am using the elmers paint markers as used by the OP. I must be missing an important technique here. I suggest you test this before going all out on your car, because this shift boot I have does not look good.

I don't want to scare people away from doing this, but do want to warn you to practice on somthing else other than your car.

To the OP, what tips do you have to keep the paint on the threads and not wipe off when you clean the surrounding leather?

Another thought occured to me about this. This works better on threads that stand proud of the leather, like the side threads on the seat and the door panels. However, I had a harder time on the threads buried in the seat cushions and seat backs-like a shifter boot.

Good thoughts. I am curious if I am applying to much paint. If it takes three passes, it can't be alot of paint. Also, are you using medium tip or fine?

That must have taken a seriously long time lol. I guess it's time for me to do this too. Blue stitching on graphite gray leather for my cobalt blue should look pretty good methinks.
