Hey Fred,
I see your perspective, but still have to say that the new e60 M5 will be attractive and will sell very well. I actually do think that the new 5-series looks good, as does the new 6-series. I can't convince you, but I think that time will tell, and I wouldn't be shocked if your next car was an e60 M5.

Cheers.

I still own the current M5, very happy with the car. Put deposits on the next M5 and M6 will decide to go ahead or withdraw once they have some more info locally here

Dan...my wife and I both had the E39 Beast (see below) but we've switched to the Caddy ESV for her and the TT for me. Between the two of us we've had E36 Super Charged M3 Cab, E36 4DR M3 and the 2 M5s. I've been a Bimmer'o'phile for ever but have to admit that bangle has tarnished me with recent designs. Notwithstanding, I still hold the view that the E39 M5 is a perfect blend of drivability, aesthetics, performance and brute power. I look forward to enjoying the TT.....so far its been simply phenomenal.

Like a few others I currently have both. I had planned to replace the M5 with the TT, but found the TT too impractical for my weekly use. Even though the backseat is never used, I still appreciate the trunk and stealthiness of my M5, especially compared to the TT I have. When I do part with it, I know I'll miss it b/c it's combination of looks, power, etc won't be an easy replacement, if at all. Maybe the E60 M5 will grow on me but I won't buy one of the first model years even if it does.
