Unhappy I Hate Balck!!!! :(

Just spent 4 hours detailing the Turbo and it looks like it had been in a sandstorm

Must be from the back and forth to miami and NYC driving but the entire nose and hood and lower panels have chips all over them.......If this car was silver I would barely notice them!

Hmmmm.....yep that's it I need a silver car now

Darren, you wouldn't know the meaning of a sandstorm untill you've come to this part of the world.

My '03 was basalt black with polished HRE wheels and it was a b*tch trying to make it look clean. Now the turbo S is arctic silver and it really does hide the dirt much better.

I just spent 2 hours detailing a friends' SL500. Brand new black one. You can't hide ANY imperfections on a black car, even new. I don't think I'll ever get another black car. It would drive me nuts trying to keep it clean all the time.

IMO, that is probably the only way I would actually get a black car. So damn tough to take care of it.

yep, my 10 year sentence with black cars ended at the beginning of 05 when i sold my last one (FOREVER!). i wash my seal grey and titanium ones once or twice/mth and they almost always look clean (except the wheels). no more swirls. no more dust layer. no more chips popping out against contrasting light colored primer underneath. i feel like a free man!

I almost consider it scheduled maintenance to have the bumper re-sprayed once every year or two. I always tell myself that I will never buy another black car, but somehow ended up with this one in black. Little tiny white rock chips on the front bumper really get to me, and no detailing or touch up would ever make it right.

When ordering the Cayenne, I told the wife she can have any color EXCEPT black...

Both my last car, and my brothers 996TT were un/fortunately black. Looked amazing for the hour right after a nice wash and wax, and then come the bugs, little swirl marks, any smudge, any smick, any mark, ANYTHING!

Now I have a white car...and its allllll good. Love the white-livin-life
