There comes a point where the epic chase for HP just makes me feel at such a loss.

Nelson Racing pry builds the sickest engines around, not just power wise, but reliability and smoothness as well. Fairly expensive but you get what you pay for, his engine packages are crazy, you can drive it on the street all smooth and docile as if it were stock yet get on the throttle and hell breaks loose. I've seen a couple resto-mods/pro-touring cars running his builds, just flat out awesome.

the engineering is always impressive and interesting but it comes to point where this all gets old. It's when you drive the car and actually turn the steering wheel and go faster and faster while that steering wheel is turned that is a real thrill. Keeping it straight is fun for a while but you get bored.

Although I'd happily agree with you all day with the above statement, there are a LOT of people who are really into straight-line racing!

You'd be surprised at how sharp a well thought out protouring/resto car can handle . Nelson's smaller power engines have gone into classics that handle like their on rails, not all are straight line focused ... sure the 2k+ car is not exactly something you want to go corner carving with though lol

What good is a motor like that without a chassis that will safely handle it? If I liked American muscle, I wouldn't be here. Power is no good if it can't be applied. The straights don't count:-)

The car made 5 hp at idle.....

That means it could beat a civic by just dropping the clutch and letting it roll in first gear.

All jokes aside, the idle was pretty nice and the wiring harness was SICK! Kudos for this level of engineering.
