Check Valve and Intake Plenum Upgrade-Lost Pressure! RESOLVED !

Hi,

My car was running well until last week when it was made the Intake Plenum bendable tubing upgrade. I took this upgrade for replace the check valve #16 99611013570 because some times my car turn on the PSM+ABS light (error).

After the upgrade the turbos Billet K16 only run 0.7BAR (before upgrade 1.2/1.3 BAR) and only the car only start get turbo pressure at 2400rpm (before upgrade 1800 rpm).

I did a plenum leak test and verify that the air goes out and I can get pressure. A try to find the leak at the plenum and hoses but canīt find.

Fault Codes:
P1250
P1109
P0103
P0234

Could the check valve #16 be wrong and the air goes out through it?

What do you suggest to do?

I have to close some hose to do the plenum leak test?

Thanks

Make sure you installed check valve #16 correctly. Make sure it still works. Just blow into boths sides, it should only let you blow into one side.

The right side should be the side you can not blow into.

Hi,

I verified the "check valve" and it is working well (I canīt blow from the right side).

Now the turbo get pressure quickly at 2000rpm.

However in second gear it only run 0.8 BAR. I setup with pressure tool the wastegates to start open at 1.2 BAR. With this setup I shoud have more boost?

This weekend I drove the car. For 2 times when I push second gear the engine cut power (like redline) at 3500 rpm...Why this???

After this I connected the durametric cable to the car but I couldnīt find any fault code!!!!

Iīm going crazy with all these problems......

I think when PSM/ABS light go on its an indication of MAF failing? I'm not 100% on this but I would search for that maybe.

HI,From what I know the wastegates should be set to start to open at around 12.5 to 13.5 PSI which is less then what you set yours at...But then again your tuner should tell you the PSI setting of them..

wastegates should not be set to crack at 1.2 bar. they should crack at .8-1.0 bar. stock is .6 bar i believe. you can be causing an overboost that puts your car in limp mode. i know it's annoying but i would keep tracing potential vac leaks around the TB area. vac lines on the left of the plenum and on the right side of the Y-pipe next to the boost control solenoid.

Hey,You do have a great point about overboosting....
I would think, from my experience, that if he had that bad of a vaccum leak to cause that much boost loss that his idle would be all over the place??

it depends where the leak is from. if he has a vac leak in any of the lines near the boost solenoid that can impact how much boost the car runs. vac leaks off the plenum and after the TB will often cause bouncy idle as well as leaks after the MAF and before turbos.

Hi,

Thanks for your support.

In fact, I assumed an incorrect value to setup the wastegates (1.2 BAR).

In the past MARKSKI told me that the correct value is 15 PSI to start move the wastegate arm.

I did confusion with PSI and BAR and use BAR to setup it.

This week I will correct the setup and next I will update this post.

Thanks again for all of you ...

Thanks for info.I thought though,if it was a boost leak by solenoid it would overboost ?

I spoke with my tuner today. He told me that I can setup the wastegates to have 1.4 (1.5 peak) BAR in third gear.

To have 1.4 Bar, how many PSI a have to setup the wastegates?

Thanks

No set number but if you are in the ball park,,,you should try turning them about 1/2 to 3/4 at a time on each then take it for a blast...

Yesterday, I setup the waste gate to start move the arm at 15 PSI.

After, pushed the car in second gear and saw 0.8 BAR after this I think the car went to safe mode because I only saw 0.7 BAR in third gear!!!!!

After, I connected the durametric cable and ran the diagnostic. The car had the error P1109 (Input variables charge measurement).

The car still have overboost? Shoud I setup the wastegates to 12 PSI for 1.3 BAR?

Thanks,
