I have that mod too; some times when it was stucked, I had to hold the button until it was closed completely before it could operate normally again, but it doesn't happen often.

Checked everything... Fuses, switches, engine lid ,,, spoiler ,,,hand brake ,,, rebooted computer, nothing........the top would not move using the switch ... Used the key in the door lock to activate the top... It worked fine. After using the key now everything works fine now.

You usually have to do both SmartTOP and RemoteTOP. I installed mine long ago and it was pretty easy. I think the coolest function is to use your key-remote to open or close the top; people would say wow... your car can do that?

There used to be group buys from this board, here's the link...

Freaky problem. I had mine get stuck once in the rain (no smart top) and it sucked. One of the arms had cracked.
If anyone's top is not timed perfectly have it re-calibrated. After time they stretch and things get off-time. Can cause damage in the future.
Glad it worked out.

Actually you do NOT have to install the remote top. There are many fewer problems with just the smarttop. The biggest issue I have seen is the smarttop module connection will come loose. Make sure you use the velcro to secure the module.

It is somewhat true wross. You must have SmartTOP to get the RemoteTOP functions, but you can use SmartTOP by itself. My connections are staying tight so far for 4+ years; maybe I don't drive my car hard enough.
