Crank Position Sensor

Anyone have experience with these?

I have an 02 996 turbo need to know if I can DIY.

Anyone have any links of diagrams to show?

Thanks.

Are you talking about the flywheel sensor?

I noticed it when I was changing coils and plugs, it was right there if I remember correctly. Not sure how accessible it would be on a lift, but I assume it could be done if others are able to do coils and plugs without removing the bumper / IC's etc.

I probably would just remove everything and change it, not too bad, just take your time.

I looked in the repair manual. I couldn't fund it. I did find the knock sensors though

This may help ...https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...on-sensor.html

One sensor for each bank, I remember seeing the passenger side, maybe it was more accessible ..

Assuming this what you are looking for, what code are you throwing ?

Sorry about the confusion. Trying to help.

There was a 996 related post on the Pelican Parts forums saying back of the engine, but it wasn't specific or did it include any pictures.

Crank position sensor is located near the transmission junction on the right side. On this picture the transmission is removed...
